28A - My Exit Strategy

1) Identify the exit strategy you plan to make. Do you intend to sell your business in the next 5 years for a large return? Do you intend to stay with the business for several decades and retire? Do you intend to protect the venture as a family business, and pass it down to your children? The first part of my exit strategy is that I plan to patent my idea in the future so I don't have to worry about imitations. After my idea is secured, I intend on staying with the business for several decades as a consultant and eventually retire. I want to build upon the first idea and expand the business. If it is still in good condition by the time I have kids, then I wouldn't mind incorporating my family into the business and turning it into an empire built on efficiency. 2) Why have you selected this particular exit strategy? I selected this particular exit strategy because I think there is no use in selling an idea that only fires once to anyone else. I mean that my idea is a o...

30A - FInal Reflection

Image
Read through your posts from this semester. Recall all of the experiences you've had a long the way -- the highs, the lows -- the fun moments, and the moments of drudgery, and even the moments of dread. 2) What sticks out to you as the most formative experience? The experience that you'll remember years later? What was your most joyous experience? What experience are you most proud of yourself for accomplishing? The experience that sticks out to me as the most formative experience is creating an idea and working through all of its bugs whilst receiving feedback from other students. This allowed to me understand how the customers in my age group in my market were thinking. I am most proud of accomplishing my venture concept because it was one of the few assignments that took some extra creativity. 3) At the beginning of the semester, I mentioned that I wanted each of you to develop an entrepreneurial mindset. Now, at the end, do you see yourself as an entreprene...

I aspire to become a business owner or to take over a business and operate it at optimal efficiency by adjusting the areas of development within the organization and boosting the areas of strength. These are vague statements, but when the areas of development and strengths are identified within a company, the company gains a new perspective on their companies performance levels and what areas need to c...

27A - Reading Reflection No.3

Book: Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman 1) What was the general theme or argument of the book? The general theme or argument  of the book was an explanation that there are 2 routes of persuasion based on 2 basic mindsets. One is fast(intuitive thinking) and one is slow(rational thinking). 2) How did the book, in your opinion, connect with and enhance what you are learning in ENT 3003? In my opinion, the book connects with and enhances what I learned in ENT3003 about how to approach the customer and persuade them to buy your product. The book focuses on establishing the difference between intuitive and rational thinking because both are different mindsets that require different approaches when trying to persuade. 3) If you had to design an exercise for this class, based on the book you read, what would that exercise involve? Based on the book I read, my exercise would involve my participants figuring out whether they are an intuitive thinker...

26A - Celebrating Failure

1) Tell us about a time this past semester that you failed -- whether in this class or outside of this class. Don't spare any details! It'd be even better if there was something you tried several times this semester and failed each time. The first time I failed this semester was trying to come up with an opportunity that seemed like it had a chance to thrive in Gainesville. I sat at the idea for days because I was thinking on a large scale to revolutionize something in Gainesville. 2) Tell us what you learned from it.   From that experience, I learned that I don't need to start big to make a change. There are smaller issues in life that can be reconciled with a new innovative solution. With that being said, I went from a state-wide idea to a local-city community, which made finding a more concrete issue to innovate much easier. 3) Reflect, in general, on what you think about failure. Failure is hard, isn't it? It's embarrassing, sure, but it also me...
