23A - Your Venture's Unfair Advantage

Generate a list of all of the resources in your venture (produce a list of at least 10 resources  that you already possess). This can include your human capital, social capital, financial  capital, and capabilities. You may also discuss the organizational culture you intend to  create (but, obviously, it's not a resource that you have, now.)  Conduct a "VRIN" analysis for each resource. That is, describe, for each resource, how it is  valuable, rare, inimitable (how hard it is to copy by others), and non-substitutable (are there  other resources that can provide the same benefits?).  1. Hours of Operation: Most active during general store hours 7am-11pm. The app is pretty much active 24/7 Valuable - Customers want to be able to rely on this app whenever they go shopping Rare -  Imitable - Others can copy this Non- Substitutable  - there are resources that can provide the same benefit 2. Customer Service: Is offered 24/...

22A - Elevator Pitch No.3

#1 Pitch #2 Reflection In my last pitch, the comments I received were all positive, so I decided to keep the same pitch. #3 Change (from feedback) In the first pitch, my peers told me to incorporate the functionality of the app to my customers to complete the pitch, so I added the basic functionality of my product to my second pitch. Those were the only changes I had made.

20A - Growing Your Social Capital

#1 Avi A 1) Who they are and what their background is. He is an Entrepreneur and he started A.A. IRIE Perfume Inc. and he is currently still the active CEO of the company. 2) Which 'slot' you are filling with each person (i.e., domain expert, market expert, supplier), and how the person fills the spot. He is the Domain Expert because he is engaged in the same business activity that I want to be in. His business is wholesale, retail, manufacturing, exporting/importing of fragrance. He knows every brand in the market and every unit price per bottle. 3) A description of how you found the person and contacted the person. This person is my father and he is the CEO of our family business. I called him. 4) The nature of the exchange you have with the person -- what favor did they do for you? What is the return expectation? He sent me to college in hopes that I would pursue a degree that would help me enhance the family business in the future. 5) How will includin...

21A - Reading Reflection No.2

Book: Mindset by Carol Dweck 1) What was the general theme or argument of the book? The author, Carol S. Dweck, and her colleagues researched a simple belief that gives us guidance and is part of every aspect of our life. 2) How did the book, in your opinion, connect with and enhance what you are learning in ENT 3003? In my opinion, the book enhanced my view of different mindsets. In the book, they discuss two different mindsets: a fixed mindset and a growth mindset. A fixed mindset is formed around the belief that you are not subject to change. Your intelligence, personality, and other traits are set and they will never change. On the other hand, a growth mindset is one of learning and adaptiveness. A growth mindset is welcome to feedback and grows from it. These two mindsets link back to ENT3003 because an entrepreneur has the option to have a fixed mindset or a growth mindset based on his environment and status. 3) If you had to design an exercise for this...

19A - Idea Napkin No.2

1) You. Who you are. What your talents are. What your skills and experiences are. Also: what are your aspirations? Specifically regarding your business concept, how do you see this business (if you were to start it) playing a role in your life? I am Eli Avshara. I have an entrepreneurial spirit with a charismatic charm that directs people in my direction. These skills translate to a more motivated and goal oriented employee. I aspire to become a business owner or to take over a business and operate it at optimal efficiency by adjusting the areas of development within the organizational structure. 2) What are you offering to customers? Describe the product or service (in other words, how you'll solve customers' unmet needs). The service I am offering is an application that will save people years worth of their time. For the most part, people have been getting used to waiting long lines because they don't have any other alternative. It’s not like you can just ...

17A - Elevator Pitch No.2

#1 Pitch #2 Reflection In my last pitch, the comments I received were mostly positive except one comment that stated that I needed to add the functionality of my product to my consumers. There was no silly feedback. I think all of it was constructive criticism and feedback. I thought telling me to add the functionality of my product to the pitch was insightful because I had not thought about incorporating it in the first pitch. #3 Change (from feedback) In the last pitch, my peers told me to incorporate the functionality of the app to my customers to complete the pitch, so I added the basic functionality of my product.
