My Entrepreneurship Story

I have been exposed to entrepreneurship since the day I was born.
First off, my parents were immigrants that migrated from Israel to America with less than
5k to their name. They now sit on a multimillion-dollar business that was built and raised by
my dad. I have personally never seen a man work as hard or as effectively than my father
did for the first 18 years of my life. My father started his business the year I was born and
progressively started expanding his business from the flea market to a small warehouse to a
larger warehouse to an even larger warehouse and so on. His story could honesty be made
into a movie. He has been through everything a small business owner could possibly go
through. His story is full of many gains and many losses that he has experienced since he
started his business.
I enrolled in ENT3003 because it is a class required for my innovation and entrepreneurship
minor. Aside from the minor requirement, I am interested in this class because it gives me an
opportunity to explore the entrepreneurship side of the business and I believe this class will
show whether I want to continue my father's business or potentially start up a new one in the
near future.

Opportunity  The Who : UF Students The What : Accessibility to a quiet study room in a library The Why : Never available when needed—especially when exam season starts Interviews #1: Ryan B Ryan said every time he goes to the library when he needs to study for an exam. He either has to wait a few hours for an available room or he just leaves the library because he cannot get anything done. He said he just comes back later to study when the library clears up, but he loses hours of study time because of the lack of study rooms available. #2: Cameron B Cameron said her roommates are really obnoxious and loud every time she tries to study in her room, so she relies on the library to study, but during exam time, she only finds it difficult to find a study room in any of the libraries. #3: Michael L Michael said he agrees that this is an issue, so he only uses the library when it starts to clear out. 8A - Solving the Problem

Opportunity:  The dog park at the Standard is filthy about 95% of the time. The dog owners at the Standard do not pick up their dog's shit in the dog park and it builds up over time and smells like a landfill. There are pooper scoopers and complimentary poop bags available near the trash can for every Standard resident, yet there is still dog poop scattered all over the grass in the park. As a resident of the Standard, I expect the dog park to remain clean, so my dog can use it and then after he's done, his shit will get picked up and thrown into the trashcan by me, owner of said dog. Solution: A dog park lifeguard/poop-guard The Standard will hire a few people to watch over the dog park 24/7 in shifts. These individuals watching/protecting the dog park will ensure every resident picks up their dog's shit or the owner will be fined by the Standard.
