14A - Halfway Reflection

For this exercise, I'd like you to reflect on the past two months. In your post for this exercise,
pretend that you're talking to a student from next semester's course.
What would you tell them?
I would tell them to start the entrepreneurship posts and activities with an
actual idea in mind or at least a direction instead of jumping from
opportunity to opportunity.

1) Tenaciousness is a competency. What are the behaviors that you
have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course?
I have acquired a new an entrepreneurial viewpoint and a new more
direct method in obtaining information. This class has helped me develop a more
curious behavior. One that will help me seek out opportunities and act on them.

2) Tenaciousness is also about attitude. Talk about a moment or two when
you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've
developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months? What experience or experiences
most contributed to this? Every time I wait until the last day to finish an assignment for this
class I feel like giving up. It adds so much unnecessary stress that can easily be avoided by
finishing my assignments before the deadline. I didn’t want to get a bad grade, so that’s
what keeps me going or ‘pulls me through’. I feel like I have developed a tenacious attitude
in the last few months because I found an opportunity and kept building upon it.
The weekly assignments are what contributed to developing this attitude.

3) Three tips. What are three tips you would offer next semester's student
about (1) fostering the skills that support tenacity and (2) developing the
'tenacious mindset'?
1. Find an opportunity worth investigating because you’d do yourself justice expanding
upon your original idea
2. Once you have your idea, find the audience it applies to.
3. Lastly, after you’ve found your audience, introduce the new solution to the opportunity
you investigated.

    1. Hey! I think your post is super insightful and very relatable. I also always feel like giving up when I save my work for the last night, but the desire for a good grade forces me to continue. I also think you have great tips that are very beneficial to future participants in this class. Lastly, I like the image you chose to represent your tenacity.

    2. Eli, your post was spot on. Similarly to what I wrote, there are many times we want to give up and we have to find things to motivate us to keep going. Like anything else, success in courses and school as a whole relies heavily upon motivators and we have to keep that in mind. I thought your advice on this course was very accurate and I loved the picture you included along with your post. Persistence is definitely key. Well done!
